God Sees You As His Banker

Have you ever gone to your bank, made a deposit and then walked away with the worry that your banker would not take good care of your money while he has it in his vault? As a matter of fact when conditions are right your banker may even be able to help your savings increase in value over time.  These days the bankers are so professional and careful with our deposits that there is really no reason to worry about the safety of our money. In short, we can trust our bankers completely.

In the same way, I believe God considers his human family as being very much like our bankers are to us, trustworthy.  He knows the lives he has given to us are a very safe place for him to deposit his assets and valuables. Because of his trust in us we are granted some of his most valuable possessions for both safekeeping and use throughout our lives.

Some of the priceless valuables he deposits in us for our use are: time, talent, money, creative ability, wives and husbands and of course, our children.   I believe he sees many of us as the place where his treasure can be most wisely invested for his benefit.

Then God can sort of sit back and watch as we do our best to cause his investment in us to grow and increase dramatically in value as we make good use all that he has entrusted to our care during our lifetimes here on earth.

With this show of trust God demonstrates that he has complete confidence that we will take good care of and be good servants, stewards and managers of the wealth he has invested in us simply because we are his favorite kind of bankers.

So, in our thinking about God and all that He entrusts to our care during our lifetimes here on earth, we should remember that he is the owner of the wealth he puts in our care.

Therefore, it is our responsibility and our privilege to be worthy servants, stewards and caretakers of all God’s treasure that we hold in our banks for him.  Finally, remember this. God trusts us, his children, in the same way as we trust our bankers.
