Hello, my name is Terry Weber (Terrance Livingston Weber.. to be exact). Born: 10/30/27 in Moorestown, NJ.
So you won't have to do the arithmetic, that makes me 82 going on 83 in 2010. Life: Wow! What a ride!
Short bio: Grew up during the Great Depression of the 30's. We had no money and neither did our friends and neighbors. But, still we had lots of fun (used to listen avidly to the Lone Ranger and Lux Radio Theater and The Shadow, on the radio). Then, High School in Upper Darby, PA, USN for 3 years, GI Bill college (Marketing) (at night), joined my Dad in his time clock sales and service business; became a copywriter with John & Bill Yeck in Dayton, Ohio; later established Weber & Son Direct Mail Adv. and Printing business in Freehold, NJ; invented several office aids products (Tymindex Time Card File System); sold them via mail order and mail marketing: first wife died (we had 3 children), married again (new wife had 6 children),now we have a happily "blended" family with 11 children; became a Marketing and Direct Mail & Mail Order Consultant for many business clients; in 1992, a fire put us out of the direct mail and printing business; Took an often dreamed of vacation to Alaska; retired, later, drove back to Alaska in our RV, spent summer there in 1997, Joined Habitat For Humanity (see below for more)....
After retiring from our 40-year-old direct mail advertising business (marketing consultant, mailing service, printing, and mail order sales of my inventions) in Freehold, New Jersey, Dorie and I volunteered as house builders with Habitat For Humanity's RV Care-A-Vanners (see below). Now, I write articles,(see some articles on the bottom of the list on your left) run this Internet business, invent many of the products you see here. I also carve birds and waterfowl, and do original nautical paintings----- when I have the time.
A couple of years ago, (after having worn a partial denture for about 70 years) a full set upper denture was made by my dentist to replace all of my natural (upper) teeth. Soon after is when I Invented my Weber Denture Liner Kit. My goal, with this product, is to help others have much more comfortable, stable, secure (better retention) false teeth at low cost.
More recently (now that I have a hearing aid myself), I have invented a new Hearing Aid Helps, it's purpose is to make all kinds of hearing aids much more comfortable, eliminate sore spots and all of those bothersome noises. One new invention is my: "Snore-No-More" Shield. It's purpose is to allow those around "snorers" (my wife included) sleep without having their sleep interrupted by the snores of others. Another invention I have just completed is my new Weber Wrist & Ankle Wrap. Many people have cold hands, finger, feet and toes all the time (especially those with Reynaud's Disease Syndrome). These new wraps are made to solve that problem using a new ultra-light, extremely thin insulation material that was developed by NASA for use in space. The wraps maintain the temperature of blood flowing to hands, finger, feet and toes at 72-degrees . In this way warmth and much improved comfort is sent to the the hands, fingers, feet and toes - thus solving the "cold hands and feet problems for many people.
Hmmm...I wonder what is next to "wear out" on me - then I will again have the opportunity to invent something else to help seniors....we'll see what the Lord has in mind for me... next!
AS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY VOLUNTEERS:
My wife Dorie and I used to get out on the road in our RV motor home whenever we could as volunteers with the RV Care-A-Vanners, a part of Habitat For Humanity.
For about 9 years we traveled in our motorhome (RV) to many different states in the USA to work with other Habitat volunteers to help build new houses for deserving low-income families. Those new home owners get a house with no down payment and no interest on the mortgage. Habitat calls this a "hand-up" NOT a "hand-out" program. At the same time, while building, we were able to demonstrate (by example) our Christian values to those families. They were required to put in 500 hours of "sweat equity" to qualify to become owners of a Habitat house, so we often worked side-by-side with them and were able to teach them some valuable home maintenance skills.
We did all of this volunteer work for about nine years and have worked on 40 or more builds. We met lots of wonderful people along the way. Each build lasted two weeks. We paid our own way to and from each and every build. Had a great time! P.S. Note, since Katrina, and the large increase in the price of gasoline, we have been forced to park the RV and stop our Habitat volunteering for the "duration" of the high gasoline prices. When prices come down, we are ready and willing to resume these volunteer activities. For the present, we cannot afford to drive the RV as - volunteers. It just costs too much right now. In addition, Dorie now has some health problems (Pacemaker implanted recently) which may keep us in New Jersey from now on. The result is that we have decided it is time to sell the RV.
