HAND CARVED SHOREBIRDS
New! Illusion Bird Carving (Patent Pending)

OSPREY

This is my 2/3 life size carving of the beautiful Osprey. They are also called Fishhawks. We often see Ospreys flying over the Bay, catching fish. A pair of them have built a large nest on a tall channel marker near our home on Barnegat Bay (NJ).

I carved this Osprey a couple of years ago and later it won a first place Blue Ribbon at one of the local carving competition shows.

If you are interested in owning a hand-carved Osprey, like this one, I can make another similar to it for you on special order.

GOLDFINCH Mirror Mounted (Pat.Pend.)

Illusion Bird Carvings -  by Terry Weber

My new invention is half of a carved flying bird attached to a framed wall mirror. Because you see the bird reflected in the mirror, you will think you are seeing a carving of a whole bird. In fact, each time you look at it from different perspectives, you will have the illusion that the bird is moving and changing.

This is a unique way to display this American Goldfinch. He is a half-body Goldfinch in flight and preparing to land. He is attached to a framed mirror that you can hang on a wall for very attractive, unusual display.

The carving is of a 3-dimensional sculptured Goldfinch whose reflection in the mirror makes him look complete.

His left side projects out away from the mirror and you then see his reflection in the mirror. When you look at this hand-carved sculpture, then slowly walk around in front of it or to one side, for different views, the image you see seems to change showing you different parts of the tail, wings and head. It is quite interesting and eye-catching to see.

This quite unique miror-mounted Goldfinch carving is not listed in the Shopping Cart, so to order, please send me an email at: junipertd338@comcast.net
