FAQ about Weber Denture Liners

Answers to customer’s questions about Weber Denture Liners

Question: What holds the liner on the denture?

Answer: Liner will self adhere to the DRY denture it will stay in place with no adhesive of any kind.

Question: How long will one liner last?

Answer: It depends on you. Some people use a new liner each day, others one per week. Others use one liner for 2 or 3 weeks. Experiment see what works best for you. The chemistry of your saliva can cause changes that may have a direct influence on how long the liners last.

Question: How much denture adhesive powder should I use?

Answer: You may not need It at all so, experiment, start with a small amount sprinkled on the top of the liner. Gradually use more or less as needed for a secure, comfortable fit.  The amount of powder used for one individual is not the same for another.  This is because the amount and chemistry of saliva in the mouth is not the same for everyone.  Some have a “dry” mouth; other have a “wet” mouth. Some take pills, others do not.  Again experiment to find what works best for you. In other words – test.

Question: How should I clean or take care of the liner?

Answer: Each day you should remove your denture, peel the liner off and rinse it in running water to remove any food particles. Dry the liner and denture. Put the liner back on the denture – (after you dry the denture)– then put it all back in your mouth. Once a day rinsing is adequate for most people.

Question: How do I make the liner fit my denture?

Answer: The liner is always soft and moldable.  Cut it with scissors or carefully tear it to make it the shape you need. Use fingers to re-shape the liner for the most comfortable fit. For most denture comfort you need to adjust the liner – using bite pressure – until you get what you think is the maximum amount of: stability, retention and support.

Question: What about safety in case of mis-use of the liner?

Answer: If you, a child, or a pet swallows the liner compound, don’t worry.  It will pass naturally through the body normally.  It is non-toxic, contains no zinc and will cause no harm.

SUMMARY:  Use Weber Denture Liners on both upper and lower dentures!

There are 3 Weber Denture Liner shapes:

1. Circular (disk) liners used on either uppers or lowers. Made this way so you can shape them yourself as needed with your fingers and/or scissors.

2. Preshaped Liners for Uppers - simply place on the DRY denture

3. Preshaped Liners for Lowers - simply place on the DRY denture

HISTORICAL NOTE:

Weber invented the soft adjustable Weber Denture Liner Kit (Pat. Pend.) a few years ago. This came about after my experiences while wearing a partial denture during the years after my two front teeth were accidentally knocked out while I was playing catch on my way to school when I was 9 years old.

Over the years I was always bothered by the fact that I was the only one of my brothers, sister and classmates that had to wear false teeth. Back then (the late 30s) false teeth were not very well made, and in spite of the wires attached to my other teeth to keep the denture in place my false teeth were always loose and noisy when I was talking and chewing food.  I remember one time I bit into an apple and my two false front teeth got stuck in the apple. Then, for the next two weeks, I had to go to school with a large gap where my two front teeth should have been. Talk about embarrassment!

Now, since I also inherited soft teeth from my parents, I have a full upper denture in my mouth.  After I got my first full denture, my dental problems got worse instead of better! That is when, in desperation, I said to myself: “Terry, there has to be a better way!”  So, I got my always inventive mind busy and did my best to invent a better way to give you, myself and all other wearers of false teeth (dentures) more comfort in the form of much improved: support, stability and retention while chewing all kinds of food. (TLW)

How to use these soft adjustable Weber Denture Liners:

1. You dry the denture.

(2) You place the always soft Liner ( 2" dia. disk) on the dry denture.

(3) You push it around to make it fit.

(4) you put the denture in your mouth and gently bite with mild pressure.

(5) You remove denture.

(6) You wet the Liner and sprinkle small amount of adhesive powder on the top of the Liner (test to see how little or how much is needed).

(7). That's all, but at night you can peel the Liner off of the denture, rinse Liner in running water and then re-use Liner again the next day (as above). Liners can be re-used many times.

How soft adjustable Weber Denture Liners Can Provide Healing Of Sore Spots:

If you have one or more sore spots on your gums you can get some immediate relief by placing a piece of a Liner on the denture where the sore spot is.  This will provide a soft cushion between the denture and gum where the sore is, in this way irritation (rubbing by the denture) is eliminated and  healing of the sore spot will take place over time.
