When I was in Alaska a few years ago I fell in love with both Alaska and the beautiful DIAMOND WILLOW hiking staffs I discovered there. Since then I found a man in northwestern Canada and another in Alaska, who can supply me with raw, locally grown and harvested Diamond Willow sticks.

I get them from him after he seasons (dries) them for a year or more, but otherwise they are raw and unfinished. I then peel whatever bark he left on, sand, clean, trim and varnish (polyurethane) them as needed.

This lengthy, labor intensive process converts them into the handsome, rustic, rugged finished hiking staffs you see in these pictures.

Now I can offer you these beautifully hand-finished and carved Diamond Willow staffs at a reasonable price.

To add to their appeal, a leather thong is attached.

In addition, to make the staff even more attractive, I also add one of my hand carved Osprey heads and fasten it to the top of each staff.

SPECIFICATIONS:

The average length of a staff is about 60 inches. They are a problem to ship at that length, so I have found a way to cut them in half for easier shipping. After you get a staff (in two short lengths) you can put it back together (instructions included) so it is just as strong and attractive as it was before being sent to you.
